Jackson: "Millly?" I said in pain. She looked up at me and I smiled. "I'll be fine."
Milly: I nodded my head thoughtfully. "Are you sure?" He nodded and smiled, failing miserably. I saw Owen ride up and sighed in relief. Not much longer afterwards I heard Justin and others coming. They came into the clearing and I stepped over next to Jackson. "I'm going with him." I said quietly, with resignation.
Kale: I tilted my head as I heard a bunch of commotion. I kicked my horse and ran toward it. I saw medics and alot of the other riders sorrounding Jack. I leaped off and ran over to them. "What happened?" I asked in concern. I looked to Milly and Owen and waited. Milly was swaying back and forth and I stepped to her side. 'You can't come with us,Miss.' I heard one of the medics say and scowled at him. "Why cain't she?" 'Because we can't have anything happen to her whenever she's as pale as a ghost.' He replied back and I nodded. "Come on Milly. Let's get you to the barn. I dinna ken why you 'ave to be so tou'f." I said with my brogue coming in to play. She leaned heavily against me and I looked to Owen. "Help me get her on my horse with me." I turned and walked toward it.

Miley:
i saw a red headed boy help Milly on his horse. i got up ignoring Owen and walked over to the red haired boy. "hey, ya know that Milly has a horse, i tied her mare up over there on the tree." i said to the boy as i pointed to Lyra. i walked over to the palomino mare and untied her and walked her over to Owen and the red head. "here ya go," i said handing over the reins. "hey Owen, when did you come here?" i asked finally talking to him. "how are you?" i said looking over at Justin, Jack, and Michael. They put Jack on a mobile bed and ran him over to the meadow. everyone waited for the helicopter to arrive. "i can ride Lyra back to Sterling with Milly," i said. so then the red head didnt have to go to Sterling.

Arin: "it depends on what milly wants to do," i cut in, worried for my friend's sake. what if she didn't want to ride to Sterling behind this redheaed newcomer? he had the same hair color as me, but, other than that, i had no idea who the heck he was. "Milly, can you ride Lyra by yourself, or do you need someone's support?" i asked her.
Owen: i jogged over to Kale, after tying Brumaire L'Ouverture to a tree. the stable-born stallion wouldn't know ground tying if it looked him in the eye. i helped support Milly, but wasn't sure where to put her. the medics came to get Jack- he looked weak, but at least help was here. "What happened to Warrior? does someone need to look after him?" i asked no one in particular.
Katie: i jogged after the medics, who were wheeling Jack, on a stretcher to the helicopter. it sickenly reminded me of the poem "ball turret gunner," but i kept my queasiness to myself. after all, i was the adult in this situation, and told the medics just that. "do i need to fly along with him? phone his parents? or stay with the others and keep them calm?" i asked, calmly.

Mary Anne: As Jacky was loaded onto the stretcher, I watched a red haired, new boy help Milly up along with Owen. I'll be, new people were just popping up all over the place! "Piper can carry two if somebody needs a lift!" I called to no one in particular, remembering that Phoenix and Warrior had been sent, riderless, back to the stables to warn Katie.

Kale: I smiled kindly to them and shook my head. "It's fine. I don't mind at all. Besides I don't think such petite ladies can hold up another human being." I said then sucured Milly in front of me. I tied Lyra's reins to my saddle and kicked my horse moving away from the others and toward Sterling.
Milly: I held tightly to Kale's forearm and leaned back resting. "Are you sure you want to go all the way to Sterling? It is a little out of your way." I said but he nodded ferverently down at me. 'I'm positive.' He replied and I nodded also.

Miley:
i walked over to Owen how was asking about Warrior. "Warrior is back at Sterlings. i sent him back with my dressage horse Tempo." i said almost crying. i didnt want or need Warrior to be out down, my heart would break completely and my parents would send me away again. i had just gotten back and i didnt want to leave. "i got to go think," i said walking off to the woods. i just needed to get away from the world for a few mintues and think about what i needed to do. as i walked over logs and underbrush, i came upon a log and sat down to think. i put my head in my knees and thought how i could save Warrior and get home in the dark. the sun was all the way set and i couldnt see the trail back to the stables. i heard a rustle and turned around to the see the bay filly. she was so cute and her mom was hunting for grass in the woods.

Owen: "okay," i said, worriedly searching Miley's face for what was wrong with her. she looked near tears. but, at least both injurees were safely on their way to a hospital or stables, so it was time to disassemble. "anyone need a ride?" i asked the falling darkness.
Arin: "i do!" i said, trying not to sound too enthusiatic. "phoenix, the three-year-old i was riding, would have gone crazy at the chopper, so we sent him back to warn katie." Owen was untying a giant of a thoroughbred, all mahogany bay hide and muscles.
Owen: "hop on up. Bru won't have trouble carrying two." i stuck out my hand, and pulled Arin up behind me.
Arin: i jumped up behind Owen, but the horse was so wide that i had trouble balancing. "i'll have to ride sidesaddle!" i said in disbeleif, tightening my hold around Owen. yes, this was something i could get used to, i admitted to myself. he was always there when tradgedy struck and left me horseless. "To Sterling!" he cried, and we took off after Kale and Milly.
Katie: Miley disappeared to somewherei was worried fro her, but had a feeling that she needed some time alone. from the time i was a little girl, horse life and death had just happened- foals were precious, but all horses had to pass away sometime. it sort of made me appreciate them even more. i hoped that Miley would come to feel the same way. Milly was gingerly lifted up onto Kale's horse. how romantic, i thought, as he whisked her away to Sterling. Arin adn Owen, too. "So, Mary Anne and Theo. we're the only two left." i said, mounting up. Tally was as fresh as ever, mouthing the bit and prancing. "it's getting late-we'd better be back." i took off for home.

Theo: In all the hubbub, I hadn't realized that everyone, except Katie, myself, and Mary Anne was gone! "It's getting dark... I'll ride with you back to Sterling." I offered Mary Anne. Piper was untested on the trails, and this was tricky country! Plus the bonus of it being two evenings before a ball...
Mary Anne: "I'd like that." I said, rather shyly. I vaulted back up, bareback, onto Piper. With his elegant, Andalusian conformation and insanely long mane, I felt like I was a princess riding a magical horse straight out of a fairy tale! Theo left room on the trail for us to ride two across. how Romantic!! I thought! Our horses just walked pacifically through the falling dusk, as we passed mirror-like mountian ponds matted with water lillies, waterfalls, wildflower meadows, and breathtaking vistas. As we rode under a willow tree by one of the tiny lakes, the branches trailed down, temporarily blinding us. I laughed, and heard Theo laughing too. "What do people who don't live in Nevada do?" I asked.
Theo: "Well, they obviously just sit around and wish they were here!" I teased, seriously contemplating asking her to the ball right here. "So, by tomorrow morning, we'll be archrivals. Unless the masks do a really good job of hiding our identities at the ball?" I asked, trying to hint at something...
Mary Anne: Aggghhhhh, seriously blush-worthy moment impending! "NO way! I'll find you, no matter what!" I said back, then, mortified that I had been so bold, with Sterling Stables in sight, I clapped Piper with my heels and we thundered towards the ranch yard, not daring to look back.
Theo: Mary Anne spurred Piper off, but I could tell that I'd DEFINITELY see her at the ball! "See you there..." I whispered into the night, then turned Inky and cantered back down the trail to Berryhill.
Mary Anne: I paused in the ranch yard just in time to see Theo whirl Inky on the crest of the hill, backed by the fading sunset, and thunder off into the night. A chill went up my spine. I should be in a movie! I thought to myself before riding into the stable.

Justin:
everyone rode off and i was still waiting for Miley. she walked away. when i heard the pound of hooves i looked down the trail. Theo was coming back. i was mounted up on Airborne Magic. "hey Theo," i said waving walking Magic off to Berryhill waiting for Theo.
Miley:
i sat there in the night surrounded by two wild horses. they seemed pretty tamed to be wild. but wild horses could be tricky. i had a Quarter Horse named Crown Jewel. she ran away then my parents sent me away to get over her. my aunt bought me whatever i wanted. she bought me a Chincoteague pony named Golden Dusk. she was so sweet. but Dusk was back at my family's ranch, Stone Ridge. after the competition i wanted everyone from Berryhill and Sterling to come to my house. since Linc Solcum was in jail, my family had become the richest people in Neveda. but i didnt want anyone to know that, they would think i was snobby. at Stone Ridge, i had many horses, like there was 30 pastures filled with horses, from all different breeds. i loved every single one.
