despite my late night last night planning operation francesca, i was still up with the sun and ready to work with Ballerina. i got to Berryhill stables around six thirty, parked my outback, and made a beeline for the jumps closet.
i set up a series of jumps, both hard and easy, in the big training arena, tacked up my horse, and was warming her up in no time.

Mike:
Anxious to get Taz working on the match race, I arrived early at the stables. But Owen was already there working with Ballerina. "You're up bright and early" I said to him after parking my truck and walking around the corner of the barn.

"yup," i said, proudly directing Ballerina over an easy three foot jump, and then through cavaletti poles. "i plan to win this match, and Ballerina has exceptional jumping chops. do you want to start warming Taz up in here? i can move a couple out of the way."

Owen's definatley going to win his competition. Let's go check on the competition Starter Monte himself. I walked back to the sale barn and inside to Montes stall. As usuall, he stood looking over the half door with total boredom in his eyes. "Hey Monte, I said reaching up to rub his ears. You're still un happy aren't you? Maybe he does need to be with Sidney" I muttered quietly. I was loyal to Milton, but something about this wasn't right.
OOC: I knida want Mike to be having second thought about racing for Milton because I'd like Milton to tell him if he races and wins he can have Taz. !! Is that ok Hotspot?

Owen:
after a couple more jumps, i decided to let ballerina have a break. we had done some pretty big jumps, and she was out late on the track last night. i led her back to the stabkes, where mike was admiring Monte.
"having second thoughts?" i asked. i had been thinking the same thing... that Milton should really have sold Monte cristo to Sidney.

"he's not happy here. he looks sad. like somethings missing in his life. and lets face it, he's fast, but he doesn't care about racing." I paused for a moment to sigh, "How'd it go with Ballerina?" I asked, almost trying to change the subject.

I luahged at Mike's tact. "it's going great... i can't wait to see what she can do out on the course!" i gave Ballinasloe a pat, and she rubbed her elegant thoroughbred head against my back, almost knocking me over. "we have this competition in the bag!"

I trotted by the practice arena on my way out to the trails. Owen and Mike were already there- but then again, I've never been an early riser. It was WAY too early in the morning for me, and it was 9:00. "Hey guys! I'm going to be doing conditioning in the woods- either of you want to come?"

"Sure! Ballerina is getting bored." i said, turneing my horse in a full circle to momentarily occupy her. "but i don;t know about mike... track training would be better for Taz."
