Miley Brawling works her thoroughbred/mustang on the track to keep her in shape.
Miley:
i walked Stardust slowly down to Berryhill Racetrack. it had been awhile since she had been out and she needed the exercise. Stardust was still half asleep, since i had come to the barn to groom her and tack her up. Stardust was born on the range and she always loved to run. she was young when she was caught and i had trained her and calmed her down. since then we have been inseperable(sp?). even though i have been riding Distant Night i still always had time for Stardust.
Stardust finally started acting like herself. she started prancing around while we neared the race track. it was foggy and it was 5AM. i thought at least the sun would be up but it was still dark out. it was foggy and i could barely see out on the track. "its ok Stardust, its only a warm up." i said to reassure my horse. we stepped onto the track and i mounted up. i urged Stardust into a walk and i walked around the track.

OOC: PS94, if Miley is a member of sterling stables, she wouldn't be allowed to use the berryhill track... but if she's sneaking a run, then she's welcome to it!
Owen: although part of the deal about owning a champion thoroughbred racehorse was riding her as much as possible, i didn't mind getting up at 4 AM every morning. Ballinasloe Ballerina, my Irish Thoroughbred, was perky and prancing, as usual. nothing could get the mare to settle down, especially when we were headed for the racetrack. even though we needed to set up a few jumps, to practice Steeplechase, a run on the track would be good for both of us.
after grooming my horse for half an hour, i saddled up and led her on the longe and hot walker. finally, at around five o'clock, we were ready to run. thinking thankful thoughts that i wasn't the same height as a jockey, but around six-one instead, i swung up onto Ballerina's bay back and headed for the five furlongs of groomed loam and grass. a shape of a horse and rider was moving around the circle... i squinted through the fog to see who it was. Theo and Mike, my two best friends at Berryhill, weren't here yet. Whitley wouldn't be caught dead on a horse without ample time to blowdry her hainr and apply makeup, and Trillium wouldn;t be riding here... i hoped that her plan was coming along. but back to the new person... "Hey!" i yelled across the wide track, so i could be heard. i waved my arm so the person could see.

OOC: she is sneaking. *shh*
Miley:
i was startled by the sound of a voice. i had started running Stardust just about 45 minutes ago and i couldnt stop yet. but i didnt want to be found by one of the Berryhill riders or workers. i pulled Stardust to a stop and looked. of course it was a Berryhill rider on a bay. the fog had lightened up and i wished it hadnt. Stardust could blend in better and we wouldnt have been seen. the person was waving to me and i tried to ignore him. i pushed Stardust into a lope and we circled again. then, just like her name, i asked her for a burst of speed and she dashed off around the track. just like stardust, the soft dirt spewed from the momentum of her pounding hooves. "come on Stardust," i said to the gray mare as we ran circles around the track.

Owen: the mystery rider, seeing me coming towards him or her, spurred their horse into a run. was someone sneaking a ride? i didn't mind; after all, i was a main conspiritor in the Trillium plan, and thought that Mr. Berryhill's ethics were a bit out of whack. but the mystery rider didn't know that. two could play at this game....
without a word, i tapped my heels to Ballerina's sides. she took off like a rocket, her long, willowy legs stretching further and further with each groundeating stride. although i'm sure she was confused that there were no hedges or hills to leap, she was loving the speed and the wind flying in her ebony mane.

Miley:
i looked behind me and heard the thunder of hooves. "oh no," i said to Stardust. "heyaaa!" i yelled to Stardust erging her faster. no way could the bay mare and rider catch me. i knew i wasnt supposed to be here and i knew that i was going to get in trouble with both Berryhill and Sterling. they might kick me out of the competion or worse the stables. i didnt want to leave Sterling Stable but i knew it was possible. "giddy up Stardust," i yelled to her. my red/brown hair was streaming in the wind. i forgot to tie it up in a pony tail. Stardust was part arabian and she always lifted her tail straight up in when she ran. "come on Stardust, they cant catch us," i said to my gray. the fog was lightening up. oh no! the sun was coming up. all the Berryhill riders would be coming out soon.

Owen: the mystery rider yelled to her horse, and they sped up. there was no way i was letting them get away... even if they were a sterling rider sneaking a joyride, it wasn;t like i was going to rat on her. after all, i had 'borrowed' Sterling's steeplechase course only yesterday. i gave ballerina her head, and she kept pace with the gray horse.

Miley:
the bay mare caught me and Stardust. i looked over at the male rider. he smiled at me and had a 'caught ya' face on. "ughh," i said. "whoa Stardust." i sat down in my seat and my gray mare slid to a stop. "ok, you caught me. please dont tell me you work for Mr. Berryhill and PLEASE dont tell him i was here."

Owen: Ballerina eventually caught up with the grey horse... it obviously had something to do with the grey's ride from sterling to here. otherwise, Ballerina probably couldn;t have caught her so fast. my horse's talents lie in jumps, not pure speed. "yes to the second, no to the first." i laughed, whoaing Ballerina and running a hand through my curly black hair. "i'm an excercise rider and stable hand here, but i'm on Sterling's side in theory. i'm already a part of one conspiracy. let me guess: taking a joyride on the opposing side's track?"

Miley:
"thank you," i said breathing a sigh. the rider on the bay mare was kinda cute and i think i had a crush on him, "uhhh... whats your horse's name?" i asked trying not to show my self blushing. "oh, and im Miley Brawling," i said reaching a hand out to the rider.

Owen: "Miley... is it short for anything?" i asked the girl, giving her hand a firm shake. "I'm Owen Lahey... the premeir steeplechase rider at Berryhill stables. and this is Ballinasloe Ballerina, the best import to ever reach our shores!" i looked her mare over. she had arab conformation, but probably had some other fast breed in her... "what's your horse like?"

Miley:
"nope, just Miley," i said smiling. "Burst of Stardust is an arabian, thoroughbred, mustang. she was actually born on the range and she was captured at the age of 4 months, cus her mother died. so my daddy bought her for me, when i came back form living with my Aunt June and cousin Holly in Maryland." i said to the cute boy, Owen.

Owen: i nodded. "like one of those Akhal-Teke horses? legend has it that, in ancient arabia, when a foal was being trained, they would lower it down into a big pit in the ground. lots of people would come and yell at it, but then the owner would come and give it food and water and calm the poor horse. that way, it had an inner mistrust for all humans save its rider, and couldn't be captured effectively by the enemy. I bet that Stardust wouldn't be quite that hostile, though!"

Miley:
"i dont know maybe. if you want to try her out you can ride her around the track alittle bit." i said ready to dismount and let Owen hop on.
