Sydney: I tried to cover my giggle as Trill & Milly practiced riding side-saddle. "I might join you later, I need to catch June first and give her a good grooming. Later!"

Mary Anne: "Wait for me!" I said, finishing fastening the last buckle on the intricate sidesaddle and climbing aboard. I instantly felt out of place, until I swung my right leg over to the left side and tried to appear graceful. It wasn't so bad, actually, but I've always had good balance, among my few athletic qualities. "Hey, Trill and Milly, should I ride my lyrical dressage program like this?" I asked, gently tapping Piper with my heel in lieu of squeezing with my knees. He broke into a trot, and I tried my best to simply move with my horse, as posting clearly wasn't an option.

Alex:
i decided that i was going to stay here and work alone with Diamond Flare. then my phone started to vibrate. i was going to let it go but it kept on vibrating. i walked away with it still vibrating in my pocket. i led Diamond Flare out of her stall and began to groom her. my phone had finally stopped vibrating. as the mare began to glow i put the bareback pad on and the put the bit in her mouth. i jumped up onto her back and the my phone vibrated again. "Hello!" i said into it. it was Justin Buck, Caden's brother. "Alex, thank god you finally picked up. we think Crown Jewel's got colic and....." Justin began. "wait Crown Jewel Crown Jewel, the sorrel flaxen mare from Stone Ridge. that Crown Jewel. i thought she was gone. " i said. "well we found her." Justin said. "and shes got colic!" yelped catching on to what he had just said. "Miley is crying. she wont stop either!" Justin yelled. "im on my way!" i said and slammed my phone closed. Katie and the other girls were staring at me. "Miley's old horse, Crown Jewel's got colic, Miley is balling her eyes out." i said, "im headed over to Berryhill." i said and swung Diamond Flame around and kicked my heels to her side. the mare bolted off, faster than i excepted she would be. we flew down the isleway and the blasted out of the barn, i turned her towards the trail and then we sped off to Berryhill, not even giving one glance behind. i had never ridden so fast bareback before. and thank god i was still on.

Katie: "Oh, No!" first, alisa had gotten hurt, and now Jewel was sick! While it sounded cureable, colic was always dangerous. Alex took off to go to Berryhill. I wanted to go and make sure everything was all right, but I had a number of other responsibilities- such as an injured girl- to take care of. "Call me with updates, Alex!" I yelled after the galloping horse and rider.
Arin: "I hope Jewel's all right," I said, worriedly, as I jogged Blackthorne out into the stable yard.
Trillium: "I'll come back as soon as we're ready, Katie, for an update." I said, motioning for everyone making up our sidesaddle club to come outside. Panda was practically piaffing with joy. apparently, she loved sidesaddle.

Sydney: Things tend to go all wrong just when you need everything to be perfect. I hoped this wasn't a sign of things to come for the rest of the day... "Katie, I know this is a big day is there anything i can do to help? Please tell me."

Katie: "I don't know if there's anything you can do in the immediate future, Syd," i said, "since you obviously can't heal colic or head bumps with the touch of a finger. But I would love it if you could help me keep all the girls in line and shipshape when it's time for our little entrance- some of them have a tendency to, ah, run off at the most inopportune times."

Sydney: "I'd be happy too Katie." With that I rushed off to fetch June from the paddock. I led her up to the barn and gave her a quick grooming before tacking up. Then I rode out to join Trill, Milly, & Mary Anne. "How's it coming?" I asked.

Trillium: "Awesome!" Panda moved like flowing water, never letting a bump unseat me from the strange contraption. Maybe she had been previously trained in sidesaddle? "But it'll be very different in dresses."
Arin: I sheepishly galloped back from the opposite end of the paddock when i heard Syd's voice. "I know i should be praticing my ladylike riding skills, but Blackthorne has missed being ridden." my horse was positively piaffing with joy.

Sydney: "I know, I've ridden countless times but NEVER in a dress. This should be interesting..." I mounted June and imagined doing that in a dress. A frown crossed my face and I creased my eye brows. Riding in a dress would be difficult enough. Doing so without making a fool of oneself was going to be another story entirely.

Mary Anne: Piper did a pirouette a little too fast, and it was all I could do to hold onto the reins and brace myself to come flying off the sidesaddle. It didn't happen, and i breathed a sigh of releif. "I bet they have enough help over at Berryhill, but I really want to be there right now. I guess the best we can do is keep our distance, give them all a little space." I said glumly. "Wait a minute, I know! To distract ourselves, we can practice riding in skirts!" I tethered Piper loosely, sprinted into the tack room, and returned with a few old feed sacks that had been lying uselessly in a corner. "Rip one end of these, then belt them with these!" I suggested, brandishing several long pieces of baling twine. "Though I'm sure silk and satin will be quite different, it should be good practice!" I belted my feed sack skirt and tried to gracefully ascend into the saddle.

Sydney: "Awesome idea!" I said hopping off of June's back and taking a feed sack from Mary Anne. I ripped open the closed end, stepped through and used a piece of twine to keep it up. "And what shall we call this soon to be fashion craze in the equine world?" I said with a totally fake French accent.

Arin: "Ah certainly don't know, dahhhling," I drawled, tying a feedsack around my waist. "But the bright orange tone of this baling twine pehfectly compliments the burlap brown of these bags. I'd go for the title..." i thought for a momet, "Icci! like Gucci, but itchy..." i trailed off, laughing as i swung aboard. of course, i had tied my Icci coture waaaay too tightly around my legs, and i had to hop. this did not work well, and i found myself sprawled on my face. Blackthorne exhaled a conderned breath into my hair. "so much for not making a fool of myself!"

Sydney: It was hard not to laugh, we were a rather amusing sight. "Oh! Are you alright Arin?" I asked. I would have dismounted to help her but chances were I'd end up on my face as well and then where would we be? Where were our 'Knights in shining armor' when we needed them? Well, on second thought it might be best they weren't around...

Trillium: "I think i'm ready for the Icci," i giggled, trotting Panda over to where Arin lay prone and offering her a hand. She accepted my help, and almost jerked me out of the saddle in her encumbered ascension. i hipped down, grabbed some sacks, and accessorized. i made sure to create a full-skirted ensemble, and was able to swing back aboard without too much trouble. "Let's do some trotting laps and see if we can manage!" I tapped a heel- the other was hanging immobiely- against Pandora's side, and she qucikly pranced towards the far corner of the paddock. by using my stirrup for balance, i was able to keep my weight centered and hang on. "This is awesome!"
