Theo: "GO!" I yelled, and us three were off! Inky's legs weren't as long as Ballerina's, and she wasn't half as muscular as Quest. But, she had amazing stamina, and I didn't have to worry about holding her back. The wind whipped my face, and her mane blew back, stinging my eyes. Some guys liked hockey, football, or baseball, or even computer programming. I couldn't see te logic in any of that right now, as Inky turned at a 45-degree angle to the ground, rounding the first corner and still in the race.

Owen: i gave Ballerina a slight kick, and that was all she needed to take off after Inky and Quest. she settled into a rhythm, keeping perfect time witht he other two horses. i let out a whoop.

Justin:
i was litteraly pulling on Quest's reins holding him back. i didnt want the other guys to see his real speed until the final stretch. i rounded the first turn with Inky right next to Quest bumping him. i kissed a little and let a little slack in the reins, that was all Quest needed to pass Inky with still a whole lot of speed still in him.

Owen: "oooh, sly." i whispered to Ballerina, leaning low on her neck. Ballerina, although not possessing the greatest speed in the world, had two things going for her: long legs and stamina. i tapped my heels to her sides, and my horse shot forward, in her coming-up-to-the-last-jump burst of power. soon, we were neck and neck, with Inky not far behind.

Theo: "HEY!" I shouted as Owen and Justin shot past Inky. That was all ahe needed; she put on another burst of speed, and was soon neck in neck with the other two! Arabians- you can't beat them when it comes to stamina! I just wondered if she could keep this fast a pace the whole time!

Justin:
i shook my head, then patted Quest on the neck. when the next quarter marker came up i whistled and let go some more slack, he sped up even more. i looked back and saw the other two about 3 horse lengths behind. "you are amazing boy," i said to my stallion.

Owen: "there's a big jump ahead of you, girl!" i whispered to Ballerina. taking a chance, i suddenly leaned up on her neck. trained from one year of age for jumping, Ballerina didn't think twice. although it must have confused her, she leapt ahead, closing a length between she and quest and then using the momentum to gain three more, now just passing him. "you can do it!" i cheered her on.

Jusitn:
Quest wasnt that good with jumps and he slowed while jumping. Owen sped past us. i was in second place just ahead of Theo. "Heah," i screamed to Quest and squeezed him with my legs and let go more slack. while he ran he caught up to Ballerina. the two ran neck and neck with each other. "your pretty good Owen," i said, "so have you meet Miley, yet?"

Theo: I was sticking to the tails of the other two, saving Inky's burst of spped for the end! She tugged at the bit, telling me she wanted to go NOW. "Hold your horses, Inky, it's not over yet!" I whispered in her ear.

Theo: I heard the guys yelling about miley... i had better not tell Justin about Owen and Miley's, um, infraction. just in case he had emotional attatchment!

Justin:
"oh really," i yelled back to Owen. Ballerina began to sneak ahead and i nudged Quest on i didnt want to lose Ballerina. i looked over at the woods and saw a tall sleek gray mare standing still with a rider with long wavy hair blowing in the wind. she had a smirk on her face and nudged her mare forward into a collected lope. as she neared the track her mare jumped the rail and galloped off infront of us. i looked over at Owen with a confused look on my face. as the girl looked back at us she was smiling, she yelled, "tah tah Boys!"

Theo: "HEY!! Not fair!!" I yelled good-naturedly to Miley as she jumped in front of us. Then, I had a stroke of something-akin-to genius; if Owen could get ahead by getting his steeplechase horse to jump, maybe I could get the edge by having my dressage horse capriole! I cued Inky, and, although confused at how un-dance-like the first part of her 'routine' had been, she practically flew off the ground, landing a nose in front of the other two!

Owen: i was practically shellshocked as Miley and her mare came thundering back oon to the track. i was snapped out of my astonishment, however, when Theo capriole'd Inky right up beside me. the race was really on now! there was no way miley was going to get the better of me this time! i eased my weight back into the stirrups from a hunt seat, and gave Ballerina her head.
