i followed Justin to his first horse, Quest. "what a beauty!" i exclaimed, giving the horse a pat on the nose. i checked the perimeter to make sure no one was there... and then whisered, "okay, you have to promise not to tell milton, but i have a secret."
i continued to tell him about how i wasn't allowed to ride (not suitable for young women of the upper class,) and how, after meeting the nice people from Sterling on the day the feud was born, i decided to take measures into my own hands. i told milton i had a tutoring job, but, really, i four-wheelered over to Sterling Stables every day to ride my new horse, Pandora's box. I was going to compete in dressage against Whitley under the alias Francesca Z. Blade, and wear sunglasses and a black wig.
"which i why i'm not going to be at the ball half the time," i wrapped up. "i have to change into Francesca halfway through, and make my appearance."

i blushed. "i've always loved horses, no matter what, so it's only a matter of time before someone catches on. hopefully, by then, it'll be too late. i'll already have beat Whitley!"

"Actually, she's competing in dressage, and so am i- er, Francesca!" but i cut myself short... wait a minute, did he just ask me to go to the ball with him?!?! i practically choked on an OHMYGOSHYESYESYES! but instead, i just said, "but i'd still be glad to go with you, if you don't mind having to deal with Francesca half the time. thanks very much for asking!" but, still, i wondered if Miley would have wanted to go wit him. she had seemed like she liked him very much when we rode together... but maybe they were just friends.

I attend an all-girls Catholic school. we don't have dances. we aren't encouraged to hang pictures of Orlando Bloom in our lockers. and i was going to a ball with Justin Buck! WOW! i blushed furiously. "thanks," was all i could manage.

"We're getting them fitted tomorrow morning along with the whole of Sterling." i explained. "but let's get back to the ballroom, anyway, or Milton will think i've been eaten by Brumaire." Bru was one of the biggest, craziest thoroughbreds my cousin had. it was actually his fault that Owen nearly knocked Sidney off her horse and prompted the meeting of the stables.
