OOC: i actually forgot the rude and hilarious thing. i have been so busy i cant remember it. Miley: i turned around away from Crown Jewel and thought where the documents were on Crown Jewel. "the documents on Crown Jewel are back at my ranch. my parents have them. but Justin had Crown Jewel's midnight black sister at his ranch and they are same. i can call my parents they are supposed to be coming here for the competition, but i can have them faxed here to Berryhill, if thats ok Mr. Berryhill." Crown Jewel nudged me in my back making me trip and fall on the ground. i tossed her head letting her pearl white star show on her forehead. i laughed a little. i got up and whispered in her ear Niyol. in Native American the name meant 'wind'. this is what Crown Jewel looks like.

Leigh: "a fax would be just fine, but i beseech you to come back out here right now." i said pointily. "Now, while we wait for Katie to return with the mare and foal, i'll bring out the files on the other seven horses. "The Grulla stallion," i began, "has unfortunately been captive for at least two years, according to Mr. Braxton P. Corngut, aka Hank. He is probably safest in captivity, so he will be put up for adoption with all of you as primary applicants, as it will be for the other horses. His history prior to that shows him traveling all over Nevada with a large herd, and he was never gathered before Hank's meddling." i shuffled my papers to reach the next one. "his lead mare, the dark bay, has a much happier story. she apparently elluded capture until only a few months ago, so she will be subsequently released." next file. "the blood bay mare was gathered only a week or so after her stallion, and is also up for adoption. however, this horse is reportedly night-blind, so any hopefull adoptors should be aware. she got on fine while within a herd, but riding solo at night may be risky." shuffle, shuffle. "the two sorrel mares come from closely linked herds, and joined together with the red mare's filly in a bachelorette band before their capture a year ago. that filly is the red dun, and she's quite the fireball. she's halterbroke, thanks to Hank's brutal handling, and rather skittish. the brighter sorrel foaled in captivity, giving birth to-" i pulled out another paper- "the chestnut colt. while he's still quite young, he's old enough to eat by himself. he is the only horse here that was not, at one time, free." i took a deep breath after spouting off the stats.

Milly: I walked into the group to Leigh's side and smiled at her. "I'd love to adopt the Grulla Stallion. He's quite lovely." I looked over where he stood with his head titled watching the group. "He also looks like he has personality and I love that in a horse." I turned back to her and gave her a hopeful exspession.

OOC: Eeeeek, sorry Liberty, but Spot was planning on adopting the Grulla (for Milton- the guy could use a little less structure in his life!) but knowing her, she'll be fair and do rock paper scissors or flip a coin or something! Theo: I surveyed the horses in the corral. The dun filly, complete with a dorsal stripe and tiger-like markings on her legs, gave me an impudent snort and whirled, cantering to the other side of the pen in a cloud of dust. She was obviosly convinced that she was still in the wild, where she was born, and didn't intend to bend to the will of some insignificant human like myself. "Could I take the first bid on the red dun filly?" I asked, wondering what my dad would think of footing the bill for a wild foal. Not that it mattered; I was absolutely set on adopting a wild horse.

OOC: good choice Blu she will be perfect for Theo! Miley:
i slumped my shoulders and patted Jewel good bye but not for long. i didnt want my mare to be owned i wanted to set her free. she was wild at heart and i didnt want to have her in camptivity. i remounted Rampage and Crown Jewel followed us out to the paddock gate. i opened the gate and slide Rampage through. i reclosed the gate and Crown Jewel nickered good bye. i jogged Rampage up to the gazebo and stopped him. i sat on him in the shade listening about the other wild horses. i took out my phone and called Stone Ridge Ranch.
"hello Stone Ridge Ranch, if anyone's got a horse for you, its us, this is Alexandra Brawling speaking."
"hey Alex! its Miley. do we still have the documents on Crown Jewel?" i asked my older sister.
"whats up Girl? and i do believe we still have her records. why do you need them?" Alex said back.
"well i found her and i cant say she belongs to me until i have paper work on her. the BLM agent wont believe me." Miley said. she listened into the phone receiver to paper shuffling. in the back ground she heard, 'who is it Alex?' 'its Miley. she wants the paper work on Crown Jewel she found her.' more shuffling of paper.
"here it is Miley." Alex said.
"great can you fax it to Berryhill Stables?" Miley asked.
"yea of course. and ill send over something else if the BLM agent doesnt believe it." Alex said with a giggle and a sigh.

OOC: I made a thread with 'profiles' of the wild horses, maybe we could discuss who adopts who there...? Here's the link: hotspot7.proboards82.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=135Sydney: I stood quietly watching the horses. I'd seen a few wild herds on my way out here. These horses didn't look wild. They were unhappy, and neglected. The sad looks in their eyes made me want to run over to the gate holding them in the corral and release them so they could be free. Then I considered what Leigh had said about the blood bay mare, she was night blind, which could mean that she couldn't see preditors at night and would slow the herd down. I shook my head. No, some things aren't meant to be free.

Miley:
i looked over at Sydney while on Rampage's back. i straighted my back and nudged Rampage into a walk over to Sydney. she was looking at the blind blood bay. "Syd," i whispered, "why dont you adopt the blood bay, you are a fantastic rider and she will be perfect for you."

OOC: sorry, liberty, but the only reason that Milton and Justin went to rustler hank's was to buy the grulla. the rest kinda came by the seat of their pants. but she can adopt any of the others! and thanks, mia, you have talent in organization!
Leigh: "i beleive Mr. Berryhill has first choice." i said, smiling at their enthusiasm.

OOC: No problem Hotspot. Ok while Spot and Blu are on a mini hiatus (camping) I'd like for us to decide who will be adopting who. I've updated the Wild Horses thread I made and I am labeling all horses EXCEPT the ones blu and Spot wanted adoptable. (Also minus the dark bay mare that is going to be released.) Head on over and post which horse you'd like to adopt. (by the way, I don't see why we could have more than one a piece. I plan to have Mike AND Syd adopt one of the horse.)
Sydney: It seemed as though everyone wanted to adopt one of the horses. I decided to wait until the others had been adopted and take what was left. My thoughts turned to Mike, I wonder if he'd adopt one?
OOC: What I plan on doing since Mike isn't 'here' is have Syd adopt the remaining 2 and allowing Mike to take over one of them.

Mary Anne: either Syd or Milly would be great with the blood bay- they both had the equine expertise and patience to train her without breaking her spirit. The two sorrel mares and the chestnut yearling were still unspoken for. The yearling seemed to look at me with liquid brown eyes, looking pitiful and beautiful at the same time. What would it be like to own a mustang? I thought, then thought better of it when i remembered Little Miss Butterfly, my arabian filly, who wasn't even broke to the saddle and needed major training, and Piper, my beautiful riding horse, who was quite a handful. I couldn't handle another horse, but I would certainly help these mustangs find worthy homes. If they were adopted by my friends, or set free, so much the better!
