Alisa took her horse out of the arena at sunset. I'd better take Vanilla on a trail ride, to calm her down, she thought. She rode down the trail silently, enjoying the scenery. Suddenly, Vanilla's ears pricked up. "What's wron-" she said as her horse suddenly lurched forward, sending her out of the saddle and bolted. Alisa was speechless as she watched her horse gallop away. "My horse" she weeped "is gone."

Justin:
i rode my mare Eagle Spirit out of the Berryhill stable and out to the trails. the horse moved into a graceful extended trot. he moved with such grace that it seemed like you were riding on a Dressage horse. but this horse was no where near a Dressage horse. he was a cattle horse and basically could do anything. my older brother's girlfriend's horse Nutmeg was just like Spirit. that was because we had recently sold Nutmeg to Alex Brawling's family's ranch. well it was more like Caden had given it to Alex as a present. Spirit hopped over some logs then his trot turned into a complete stop. his ears percked up and his head rose. he looked straight ahead. i heard something like a twig break and then saw something white. an arabian mare bursted out of the brush and galloped past us. Spirit sidestepped beneath me and i looked over my shoulder. i kicked my heels to my overo's sides and sent my horse after the white mare.

Alisa:
There I sat, on a rock on the side of the trail, weeping. I thought I heard a horse nicker in the brush, but it wasn't my mare. It was a horse carrying a rider! I couldn't see them clearly, my eyes were flooded with tears. I just gave up, I'd been out a long time already, so I walked back to the barn, horseless. Oh well. I thought. I'll lease a horse or something so I can still ride out and look for her in the morning.

Alisa: A while later I rode out of the stable on Here Comes Bob. "I'm doing more work than he is" I muttered. Bob just plodded along Feather Lake Trail, as if I didn't exist. I looked everywhere for Vanilla. What if some one stole her? A few minutes later, I saw a human on horseback's figure. I couldn't quite make it out, It was far away, but I thought it was the same one I saw earlier. At first I started to turn back, but then I heard Vanilla's neigh and trotted closer to the figure.

Owen: i was late for the clinic, of course, but it wasn't my fault. it was Dev's. Bhearna Bhuil- 'gap of danger' in gaelic, Dev for short- had, in good nature, found a way to not only unseat his manger, but pick the lock on his stall door. i found him grazing by the fountain, covered in grass stains. but, heck, i was late anyway, so why not enjoy the ride?
the path from Berryhill intersected Feath Lake trail about midway through. immediately, i sensed that i wasn't alone- was that Justin i saw through a gap in the trees? and another rider, too, on that elderly horse i always saw grazing in the Sterling pasture. "Hello!" i called, wondering what was amiss.

Justin:
i chased down the mare at a gallop. once Spirit had gotten along side of the mare, i gotten my lariat and began to open it up to throw over the mares sleek neck. once it was open i began to spin it over my head then, 'swoosh' it glided over the mare's neck. Spirit slid to a stop and then began to back up against the lasso. the mare pulled up she didnt try hard. she stopped and then let out a breath. Spirit walked towards her and then i dismounted, looking the mare over for an injuries. i heard someone call 'Hello" i looked over my shoulder to see Owen on Dev. and a girl on a elderly horse called, Here Comes Bob. "Howdy Owen!" i called back to him and motioned for him to come closer. when he was close enough, i looked at Dev. the horse seemed almost bored but he suddenly pirked up when he saw the white mare. "this mare just came crashing through the bushes infront of me. so Spirit had gone after her. but i dont know who's horse it is, or if it is wild." i said and Owen dismounted and looked at the mare with me.

Alisa: My heart pounded, HE HAD MY HORSE! I galloped up to the man on the overo. "He-hello. Tha-that horse" I said pointing to Vanilla. "Is-i-is mine." Vanilla neighed at me, and I dismounted Bob and gave her a hug.

Owen: i guided Dev over to where Justin, Eagle, and the mysterious grey mare were standing. "she seems to be pretty gentle, and tame, of course," i said, perring down from my saddle at the groomed and clipped horse. "she must belong to somebody..."

Justin:
"she is? well she is very pretty and very gentle." i said and handed the grey mare to the girl on Bob. looked at Owen. i shrugged and let the mare go to her owner.

Alisa "Oh, thank you!" I said. I hopped off Bob and got on my mare and got the reins to lead Bob home. I was bursting with joy!
