Sidney: I found June's saddle and bridle and tacked her up, almost surprised that I remembered how to. I then led her out of the barn and into the practice arena. I stopped her and moved to her left sholder. "Ok June, lets see if I can still do this." With a hop and a swing I was up. It felt so good to be back in the saddle! Although truefully I wasn't as comfortable as I used to be, "Probably just need to loosen up and get back into my riding form" I loosened the reins and gave a squeeze with my legs, June stepped out confident and smoothly. "You really are a Fantasy!" I felt great, so I asked her to trot. She was an amazing horse, maybe I could compete with her after all! I asked her to canter and around the arena we went. When I saw someone walking up to the fence, I gently pulled on the reins and June came to a gentle and square halt. I knew I had found the perfect horse.

Arin: i trotted along the fence line. on foot, of course. i was taking my afternoon stroll, that led me past the horse stables. i saw some lucky girl trotting a gorgeous grey horse along the fenceline. how lucky. i leaned on the fence, wishing i could somehow work up the courage to become a part of the stable. but, i don't want to make my injury worse. it's the reason that i had to quit the tour with the company- during one big performance, i took a spill during my favorite dance, and ended up with a seriously strained achilles tendon. the doctor perscribed at least a year of healing, because the tendon was the least of my worries- dancing is hard on bones and muscles, and mine were weakening. i wasn't able to go back to my starstruck life for a year.

Sidney: "What a great day for a ride! I really like Sterling Stables and I just moved to the area so I'm still settling in. Do you live around here? I'm Sidney Mitchell by the way."

Arin: i smiled, as i recognized the girl to be who she said she was, sidney mitchell. "i've always admired your riding. I'm Arin Doherty." i said. "i just moved in around here. i was touring profeisionally with a dance company, but because of this," i indicated the bandadge wrapped around my leg, peaking out from my capris, "i had to stop. i do have a horse, though."

Sidney: "Thanks! I'm sorry to hear about your injury. But you have a horse, that's great! What breed is your horse?"

Arin: a dreamy look came to my eyes, i'm sure, as Sidney asked me about my horse. "he's a friesan i found while touring in Belgium. a prestigious breeding farm was going out of business, and my dance troup danced at their huge goodbye bash. i got paid in horse, by request. what horse are you riding? is she yours?"

Sidney: She is now, I said with a smile. Her name is June Fantasy and I bought her more for a practice and pleasure horse, I'm trying to get back into the competition and I'm planning on getting a lot of help from June here, right girl? Just like she'd understood June bobbled her head up and down and I laughed, I'm not that bad!

Arin: twenty minutes later, i was back in the practice arena. Blackthorne seemed eager to get out of his corral, at last, and i was riding bareback. i had sprinted all the way home, and was now trotting back to whence i had come. i waved to Sidney and June Fantasy. "Hey!" Sidney waved back, i i turned into a trail leading somewhere. i wondered how Blackthorne would fare on a trail...

Alisa Smith tied up her horse, Vanilla, at the fence of the arena, watching people on their horses. She brushed her and tacked her up, and mounted. She trotted into the arena, then halted. She looked around. I love this place, she thought. Then she cantered a few times around, breathing in the wonderful scent of horse and arena dust.
