Hello!
probably the most frequently asked question about RPG'ing is "How do you make signatures (the things that go at the bottom of your post) and avatars (the things under your name.)?" well, i happen to consider myself an expert (not really), so i have made a tutorial for you!!! enjoy, and use it well!
Signatures:
to do much of any graphic stuff online, you must first get an account on an image hosting site. the most popular is photobucket, 'cuz it's FREE! only put in the most basic information, and you'll do fine. once you have an account, you can really start finding stuff.
so, in order to make a signature, find an image you want. a lot of people use paint or photoshop to tweak it, but you can just use a plain pic if you want. right click on it. save it to your personal files. MAKE SURE IT IS SAVED AS A JPEG!!!!!! then, at photobucket, click "browse," select the picture from your files, and upload it. YAY! you now know how to put an image on photobucket. phew.
once it is on your account, to make it a siggie, copy and paste the IMAGE code. not the URL, not the html, the IMAGE code! then, click on "profile" at the top of the site (sterling stables). then, where it says "signature," PASTE the IMAGE CODE!!!!! wa la. you have a siggie!
RULES for siggies:
Rule 1. they cannot be bigger than 200x500 PXLs. not inches, pixels. any bigger, and they will distort the page.
Rule 2. they cannot be gross or rude or inconsiderate or offensive. there is a certain saying that i will ban you from the forum for that seems to be very popular in equestrian siggies. i will NOT copy it here, though, so figger it out yourself whether or not your saying is nice.
and that's it for siggies.

find a square picture. tweak it. load it on photobucket. NOW, the difference. instead of copying the IMAGE code, copy the URL. then, at your profile, paste the URL in the portion that says "avatar." then, under said portion of profile, you can fix the number of pixels in it. 100x100, the maximum pxl width, is the best. just type it in, and you're good to go!
Spot's siggies:
need a hand? want a custom signature with a MATCHING avatar? (pretty cool, huh?) well, just place an order in the "spot's siggies" part of the forum, and your wish is my command! as long as it's horse-related, that is.
