Mary Anne: I walked into the barn. I didn't see anybody, but maybe they were in the stalls! "If anybody wants to ride to the lake with me, I'm leaving soon!!!!!!!!!!!" I bellowed.

Sydney: I stucked my head out of June's stall, "I'd love to!" I replied and took June's reins and picked up my helmet and started out the door.

Arin: "i got a map from katie an hour ago." i said, dramatically unfolding the colorful piece of paper. "if we want to take a picnic, we can go to feather lake... and if you and June are up for a jumping challenge, we could go on Glacier Ridge. Katie hasn't chopped any of the fallen trees away yet."

Mary Anne: "I still need to find a horse to ride. Can we go to Feather Lake first? I'll need to get used to my horse! We can go jumping after our picnic!" I turned to Katie. "Can I ride Blazing Pheonix? She looks so beautiful!"

Katie: i poked my head out of the office door. "Phoenix, you say?" i said, pensively. "he's not very well trained, yet... he's only three, and we haven't mastered the whole 'saddles are not scary bit.' but, i can find another horse. let's see..." i pulled up the index on my computer, and finally found one out. "how about this..." i led Mary anne over to a stall. "This is fortune's orchestra, a very calm girl. fortune is a paso fino... have you ever ridden a gaited horse before?" i patted Fortune's velvety sorrel nose.

Mary Anne: "I'd love to!" I told Katie. I grabbed a saddle from the tack room and led fortune out of her stall to the crossties.

Katie: "good! now, i still have some accounts to do... go on ahead. if i can, i'll ride Baroque Flashback and catch up with you." i smiled. Flashback and his full brother, Baroque Talisman, helped my dad and i win the superbowl of horsemanship last year. he could keep up with any horse on the trails.

Mary Anne: I swung into the unfamiliar English saddle, then clucked to Fortune. She swung out into a smoothly flowing 'pass', the trademark gait of a Paso Fino. "Let's hit the trail! See you, Katie!" I calle dout over my shoulder.
