Sydney: I urged June into a trot and then slowed to a walk before we reached Ms. Pickman, then came to a halt in line with everyone else. I sat up straighter, and listened intently to what she had to say.

Ms. Pickman: 3 girls cantered over to me; I recognized one as THE Sydney Bristow, champion rider, and the other as Mary Ellen... Mary Alice...Mary something. But the third girl had not had the pleasure of making my accquaintance. I held out my hand. "Hello, I am Ms. Pickman, superintendant of the ball to take place tonight. And you are...?" I asked.
Whitley: I rode Tamboro over, at a walk. I didn't want to spoil my new jacket and johdphurs. If I had to spend any amount of time with these annoyingly country Sterling girls, I might as well look fabulous. At least Ms. Picky was already there-- she, at least, valued fashion and decadence. "Helllooo. Why must I be here?" I said pointedly to Katie Sterling, taking in the positively bucolic surroundings.
Mary Anne: "Don't look now, but here comes herself!" I whispered to Sydney as Whitley made her rather persnickety way towards us. "I guess that all the girls will have to do one choreography together, so we'll just have to tolerate her!" Whitley wouldn't get on my nerves so much if she made any attempt whatsoever to disguise her disgust with anything less that the Whitley Treadwell standard. But, she didn't.

Sydney: As a competitor, I'd learned to keep my opinions of other riders, no matter how snobby, to myself so that the judges would not think me of poor character. With Whitley, it was right nigh impossible. "How long to we have to put up with her?" I whispered to Marry Anne.

Mary Anne: "Until we learn the entrance piece, I suppose, so we'd all better pay attention." I frowned at Ms. Picky, who seemed to be taking her time in getting this show on the road. The sooner our evening of ball gowns, waltzes, and sidesaddles began, the better.

Sydney: I nodded slowly then returned my attention to Miss Pickman. I began to feel a bit nervous, but very much excited about the coming events of the day.

Katie: "Ms. Pickman1 so nice of you to come!" I said, putting on ym best game face. Really, I was panicking. There was so much to do and so little time... but I had to go mount up. Apparently, the stable managers got a part in the entrance, too! "I'll be right back." I jogged off to get Tinker ready.
Arin: "'Tis herself indeed," I sighed, walking Blackthorne sedately over to Picky and the rest of the riders. "Let's hope we can keep this brief."
Trillium: "We- um, Ve... shoulld really do our best to make the most of the situation," I said, just to put my accent into use. Whitley looked totally high and mighty, but I wondered if she could handle sidesaddle. "Hello, Mizz Pickman! Vhat are ve going to learn to-day?" I asked, trying to seem natural.

Sydney: It was hard not to laugh at Trill accent, but she did a marvelous job. I waited patiently for our rehearsal to begin...

Ms. Picky: "Well, since it appears that we are all here, we shall begin!" I clapped my hands and sized up the girls; I tried to name them all in my head. Francesca, Arin, Sydney, Miley, Milly, Alex, Mary Something, Alisa, Whitley, and Katie, i thought. "There are ten of you, and I'm assuming there are as many boys at Berryhill?" I inquired. Justin, Owen, Michael, Jackson, Kale, Caden, Theo, and Milt-o, I thought to myself. That simply meant that, because Whitley was from Berryhill, all the pairs for the pas de deux wouldn't be boy-girl. "We will start with you all in one line, in nine pairs of one Sterling, one Berryhill rider." I motioned for the girls to get all of their horses into line. "Whitley, you will be with Alisa and Katie, you will be with Milto. N." I almost called my greatest client 'Milto,' a grave error. "Now you will canter down the driveway from the woods in said line, then when you reach the courtyard, you will fan out so that there are four couples in front staggered with five in back."
OOC: I will try to demonstrate what Picky wants with Irish dance videos later on.

Katie: "o-kay. great." I steered Tinker to our spot at the front of the lineup, while holding back my giggles. apparently, I wasn't the only one that regarded Milton Archibald Batholomew Medici Berryhill as "Milto."
Trillium: "Ohhh, muzic!" I exclaimed. "I can't vait to see vhat it vill be!"

Sydney: As Ms.Picky began her instructions, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd be riding beside Michael Vaughn this evening. As we moved together, we looked like a well-rehearsed dressage team. A very nervous, but well rehearsed dressage team in burlap skirts...

Milly: I giggled as I listened to Miz Picky and the others, then looked around for Kale. Seeing him I called Miz Picky's attention to me and smiled. "One of the boys are already here, Ma'am." I said motioning to Kale. He smiled up at me as he passed, walking over to Miz Picky and bowed like a Gentleman, gracefully kissing her hand. "A pleasure, Miss Pickman to meet you." He said allowing his accent to thicken to it's normal Scottish brogue as he smiled boyishly at her. "I am at your service in training these Ladies in proper style."
ooc:Isn't he charming!!!!!!

OOC: very Sydney: Think balance, poise. Straighten your back, heels down as always and looking in the direction you wish to move My brain plunged into remembering the hours upon hours of Dressage training I had under my belt. I rose in the saddle with June's stride, I imagined we were quite a pair parading about.

Katie: I consulted the many-times-folded list that Ms. Picky had given to me. "Kale, I believe that you'll be riding next to Milly for the opening ceremony." By the way all of the girls stirred in their stirrups, i had a feeling that they wanted to know who they were with, too. "Mary Anne and Theo will be the second couple, then Miley and Jack, then Sydney and Mike, then Milly and Kale, than Tr-Fenacescaand Justin, then Arin and Owen, and, then, last but not least, Alisa and Whitley. Hopefully, amanda will resume lessons in time for the show. Otherwise, Alisa, you get to take over her spot as our showjumping representative."
"Great. We tall people always get put in the back." I muttered. but i wasn't really annoyed.

Sydney: "aren't you forgetting someone?" I asked Katie with a smile. "Two someones in fact" I said as I relished the thought of Mike and I riding side by side. He, in a tux and myself in a -gulp- strapless dress. This could be disastrous...

Alisa-
I nodded as she read off the list. I leaned over and patted my horse's neck, thinking.
