Mary Anne: I followed the crowd down the polished row of stalls, watching my new friends ooh and aah over the gorgeous horses. Yuliya was smitten with Stormchaser, a little rogue of a mustang. Cali was settling Mist in her stall, and the new guy... Theo, was it?... greeted each horse affectionately. Horse carazy that I am, I had to ask him about his own horse. I was about to open my mouth when my eye caught the horse we had just passed. "...Ballinasloe Ballerina, a promising mare of Irish Stock..." speiled Milton, as Katie appraised the dusky bay mare in the stall. I was, for the second time today, smitten with horse-craziness. Butterfly was wonderful, but I wouldn't be able to ride her for at least two years while she was in training. That's a long time! If Katie bough Ballinasloe, I would do pretty much anything to get her to let me ride her most of the time...

Cali:
I listened as they went through the horses and I caught a few I liked, but I had Mist and dad wouldn't let me get another one... not that I could afford it anyway. I sighed and looked again at my beautiful Mist as she nuzzled me for carrots. I smiled faintly and dug one out of my pocket and fed it to her.

Milton: i noticed Cali sighing dramatically next to her horse's stall. no doubt intimidated by my wonderful reportoire of horses. "you know, we do need more excercise riders, if you would like a job just galloping the horses now and then. that's how owen is paying for the horse he is going to purchase in the near future." Owen: the stable was filled with beautiful horses, but i was especially drawn to one, Ballinasloe Ballerina. Katie was admiring her, too. "Ballinasloe is a little Irish town on the river Suck. that's a crappy name for a river." i said, petting the mare's velvety nose. OOC: Miastar! post! the whole competition dealio needs to start with you wanting Monte!

Mary Anne: "I would say so! Is it Gaelic for something?" I asked, giving my best attempt at wit under the guy-filled circumstances.
Theo: Ballinasloe was drawing quite the crowd, so I moved on to Monte without patting Balli's nose and slipping her a carrot. Sidney Mitchell was looking at him, awestruck. "Quite the horse, isn't he?" i asked.

Yuliya:
Leaning againt Stormchaser's stall, I secretly hoped someone from Steling would buy him, just so I could look at him. Everyone was ooohing and aaaahing at Ballinasloe, and I just couldn't join in. Sure, all horses are great, but I just wasn't interested in heavy horses. They lacked the speed and elegance I loved. Black Jewel was commercing with the lanky colt whose name I had forgotten, touching noses then jumping backwards.

OOC: heavy horses?!?! thoroughbreds are light and willowy! especially ballerina. Katie: i noticed Yuliya leaning against the mustang's stall. he was very entergetic... a plan began to take root in my mind. Stormchaser would be a great jumper, endurance mount, or trail horse. "i'll buy him if you take good care of him." i whispered to her with a smile. "who knows- maybe you'll earn his papers one day." i was considering buying two horses, since there were so many to choose from. Owen: i drew Milton aside. "can i use my credit to buy Ballinasloe?" i asked anxiously. Milton: "i beleive that could be arranged." Owen: i followed my boss inside his small, neat registration office, and he quickly drew up a bill fo sale for Ballerina. i had a horse of my own!

Cali:
I looked up at Mr. Berryhill and smiled. I did need a job, since dad wouldn't give me money for Mist... or any other horses for that matter. And I was going to need a different job because my part-time one was rather crappy. "Well, Mr. Berryhill, I do need a job. My other one probably won't be cut out for paying for a horse and everything." I explained to him, trying to sound professional.

Mary Anne: "Owen! Your horse was right here the whole time!" I squealed, overcoming my general shyness around boys in the joy of somebody getting a new horse, the prospects of which are always exciting. NOW I could introduce myself to the new guy, Theo...
Theo: I saw two girls coming my way- one was a Sterling Stables girl who looked a little bit shy, and the other was Whitley. Uggggh. Her horse was awesome, definitely too good for her. I was tempted to get Credentials back out and ride far, far, away, but I decided to meet the new girl first. "So, do you have any horses?" I asked her conversationally.
Mary Anne; "Kind of! I'm working at Sterling to pay off the cost fro Little Miss Butterfly, my arabian filly. Unfortunately, she's way to young to ride." I said. This time, I would omit the part about today being my first time on a horse! "But, I'm sure that you would like to talk to Arin, Sidney, or Yuliya about that! They have a little more experience than me!"

Milton: "that can certainly be arranged, Miss Peters." i said graciously. "if you would like, your duties will start tomorrow. i'll page Trillium to create a schedule for you." with that, i pressed the device skillfully disguised as a cufflink, and waited for my cousin to answer. Trillium: my high heels sinking into the ground, i hurried across the slightly damp quadrangle into the stables. "yes, Milton?" i asked primly, putting on my best secretary facade. he instructed me to run along back to the office, and print out a schedule for excercising times for Cali. i, again, plopped off through the muddy yard and into my little office, away from the lovely stables. i wished i could be a rider, like her.

Cali:
I smiled at Mr. Berryhill, "Thank you sir!" I cried, nearly hugging him. As Trillium came and Mr. Berryhill instructed to get a schedule set up for me, I smiled at her before she walked away.

Whitley: I decided to show off a litle for the Sterling Stables scum. I took Tambouro Lord, my warmblood, out of his stall and snapped my fingers at the nearest guy, who happened to be Thoe. He was TALKING to them. "Fahm boy, saddle my hohse." I ordered him, giving my best English accent impression from the Princess Bride.
Theo: GRRRRRR. Was there anybody in the world more self-centered than Whitley? She just wanted to show off for our guests, and it was pretty pointless. Anybody who knew horses could see from watching her jump that Tambouro was the one that made the pair of them look good. "Sorry, I'm afraid that there's a shortage of farm boys at the moment. Go ask Prince Humperdink." I brushed off her order, and returned to my conversation with Yulyia, Mary Anne, Sidney, and Arin. You gotta love that movie!

OOC: Mia needs to post as sydney, who finds a certain horse, before they can leave. so, let's wait! i'll pm her. Milton: "err, you're welcome." i said, cringing as Miss Peters hugged me. Owen: "it's getting late." i said, looking outside the barn. "you guys had better br headed back. i think i'll ride back with you, if that's okay... Ballerina needs to be ridden."

Yuliya:
"And Black Jewel needs a long run in her pasture," I said, patting Jewel's sweaty neck. This had been a rather rough day for her. I was so excited about Stormchaser! A colt to work with...my eyes guiltily found their way to Black Jewel's violet one.
"Yes, I KNOW you're the most beautiful horse," I whispered gently to her.
